Blackjack is a casino game played against a dealer. Although several people are seated at the same table, each individual player plays against the dealer. The object of the game is to land a hand that is worth more than the dealer’s hand without busting by exceeding the total of 21.
The total value of a player’s hand 711Kelab Casino blackjack is determined by adding the values of each card on the hand. The number cards from 2 to 10 correspond to their printed value, while the jack, queen and king are each worth 10 points. Aces are worth either 1 point or 11 points, depending on which of the two scores results in a better hand.
At the beginning of each blackjack round, players place their bets – then the game begins. The dealer gives each player two cards which are dealt face up on the table. The dealer takes two cards himself, of which he only puts one face up on the table. Based on the dealer’s up card and the player’s hand, the player must now decide whether to:
- Hit (an additional card)
or
- Stand (no further card).
The player can also opt for the more advanced options Double Down, Split, Surrender or Insurance. As soon as all players are satisfied with their hands, the dealer turns his face down card and completes his game, in accordance with the dealer’s restrictions. Players who beat the dealer get paid while those who fail lose their bets.
Restrictions On The Dealer
In blackjack, all players can play their hand in any way they want. However, restrictions apply to the dealer which force him to follow certain rules on every hand. These rules are as follows:
- If the dealer’s hand has a total of 16 or less , the dealer must continue drawing cards until he either reaches a total between 17 and 21 or busts himself by going over 21.
- If the dealer’s total hand is 17 or greater , he must choose “Stand” and not draw any more cards.
The restrictions for the dealer may differ from one casino to another, but these rules are considered the standard. It is therefore important to inquire about the dealer restrictions before starting to play at a new casino.
